Local Government Mentoring Program – Nepal-Australia
Develop your mentoring, coaching, active listening and intercultural communication skills while learning about Nepalese local government and culture. Share the learnings and experiences of your career in a positive way with this remote work-friendly mentoring opportunity.
LG Professionals Australia is partnering with the Lalitpur Metropolitan City Government in Nepal this year to run a local government mentoring program where local government professionals from Australia will remotely mentor staff from the City Government over a 6-month period. Mentors will share experiences and learnings with mentees to support their professional and career development through fortnightly meetings.
This year’s mentoring will focus on the professional, technical and career development of local officials at Lalitpur Metropolitan City from a range of areas including disaster risk reduction, heritage, water and sanitation, planning and infrastructure and traffic management teams. The program will encourage the exchange of knowledge on local government responsibilities, practices and projects between Australia and Nepal as well as facilitate cultural exchange.
Mentees and mentors will be matched on technical experience and background, and mentors will be provided with training and support from LG Professionals Australia throughout the program.
