LG Professionals Australia has been the leading advocate for the contribution, capability and capacity of local government professionals for more than 80 years. As the national voice and peak body, we work collaboratively and in partnerships to develop our State/Territory Associations and individual local government professionals. We seek to strengthen the sector by creating national and international leadership opportunities for local government professionals to progress their careers and enrich their experiences.

The organisation’s three overarching goals are to:

  1. Enhance State/Territory Association value through national and international opportunities
  2. Improve the visibility of the sector by promoting its effectiveness and impact among the public and other levels of government
  3. Improve the overall management of the organisation including financial sustainability, risk management and governance
